AL-AAP Practice Management Association (PMA) - Who We Are

The Alabama Chapter-AAP Practice Management Association was created in 2005 to assist its members--representing both solo and group practices--through information, education, and professional contacts. Its core purpose is to improve the effectiveness of pediatric practices and the knowledge and skills of the individuals who manage them.

The Association is open to all practice managers or staff who are directly employed full-time by a medical practice in Alabama with at least one full-time licensed physician who is a member of the Chapter or for a practice management organization that serves at least one Alabama Chapter-AAP member. The organization connects practice managers across the state of Alabama in a support system that is continually strengthened by the involvement and dedication of its members.

Benefits of Membership

The AL-AAP Practice Management Association (PMA) provides many resources for its members, including:

·        A group email list

·        Quarterly Zoom meetings, with breakouts by region of the state

·        An Annual Meeting, including a live Practice Management Workshop

·        Live practice management webinars, which are archived for on-demand viewing

·        Interpractice Compendium of Best Practices (coming soon!)

Benefits of membership in the Practice Management Association include opportunities to meet with other practice managers to discuss issues relevant to pediatric practice, pediatric-specific educational workshops and conferences sponsored by the Association, and inter-practice communication through the group email list. The ultimate goal of the association is to exist as a networking community of practice management staff, who, through regular updates on current issues, will assist their physicians to provide the most efficient and quality healthcare possible to their patients.
