PARTNERING TO BUILD CHILD RESILIENCE

HOME VISITING/PARENT RESOURCES FOR PEDIATRICIANS

In late 2022/early 2023, the Alabama Chapter-American Academy of Pediatrics, the Alabama Department of Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention (Children's Trust Fund/Alabama Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America) and partners hosted local breakfast roundtables in four areas of the state, which allowed area pediatricians to connect with their local home visiting and parenting resource providers to create partnerships to strengthen families and communities as extensions of the pediatric medical home. The initiative was a first step in developing resources and connections for pediatricians, funded by a small grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Our global aim:

How do we build resilient communities and families together?

Results:
Through this project, the Chapter developed a resource spreadsheet/guide after surveying all of the home-visiting and parent resource providers who participated in the four areas (see below). Resources, including contact information, website links, types of services and important details are listed throughout. NOTE: This spreadsheet will be updated on a regular basis and reposted here.
