Chilton Pediatrics in Clanton
Alabama seeks a full-time staff pediatrician.
Practice Setting:
100 % Outpatient
No administrative duties
5 exam rooms
Pediatrician only see patients. All billing and paperwork are done by staff.
General pediatric clinic coverage - sick visits, developmental checkups, medication management
Traditional paper charting. No complicated EMR to learn.
In-house CLIA Waiver Testing: Covid, Strep, Flu, HCG)
Schedule:
Average of 30-40 patients per day
Call Rotation- (Rare) night and weekend calls
Clinic hours Monday – Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
Clinic hours Friday – 7:30 am – 12 noon
Closed 12:00 noon – 1 pm for lunch Monday- Thursday
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual base salary for the first year
3 weeks PTO plus 6 holidays
401(k) with a 3% match

Pediatrician
JOB SUMMARY:
Jefferson County Department of Health is seeking a well-qualified, motivated Pediatrician to provide a variety of medical care in the medical specialty area of pediatrics. Pediatricians specialize in the health care needs of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. A Pediatrician’s work is performed under the administrative direction of the Health Center Administrator and under the medical direction of the Medical Director but requires considerable independent judgment and decision-making regarding diagnosis and treatment of pediatric patients. Pediatrician job duties include taking patients' medical histories, examining patients, ordering any necessary medical tests, and creating a plan of treatment for the patient. Pediatrician responsibilities include administering vaccinations, providing preventative healthcare, and teaching patients and their parents about proper healthcare, like hygiene and nutrition. Pediatricians supervise some staff to include providing clinical guidance and completing formal performance evaluations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are job-related qualifications that are required for employment consideration for this position:
Possession of an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Alabama or ability to obtain an Alabama license prior to beginning employment (e.g., currently licensed to practice medicine in another State within the U.S.).
Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program prior to beginning employment.
Possession of a Basic Life Support Certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are job-related qualifications deemed desirable by the Health Department. These qualifications may be considered by the hiring agency when reviewing applications and inviting candidates to participate in subsequent steps in the selection processes.
Board-Certified Physician (American Board of Pediatrics).
At least three years of post-residency Pediatric experience.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:
Monitors and provides direct patient care to children in an outpatient setting by conducting patient examinations, reviewing medical charts, administering treatments, counseling patients and parents/guardians, and updating patient charts.
Provides medical services and guidance to children and their parents/guardians by answering questions, routing calls, and researching issues in order to deliver the most effective treatment and services.
Examines children regularly to assess their growth and development to ensure there are no obstacles or medical issues in their development.
Diagnoses children’s health based on patient examination and/or analysis of tests that are conducted in order to recommend treatment.
Recommends course of treatment for patients based on examination, lab results, and referral consultations.
Administers, orders and prescribes medications and vaccinations to patients to address the medical condition.
Engages in activities designed to ensure professional development, awareness of developments in the field, and knowledge of relevant practices, rules, laws, policies, and/or guidelines.
Supervises staff by assigning and distributing work, directing staff in their job duties, monitoring progress of work, providing feedback and/or training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Job is primarily sedentary involving sitting for long periods of time, but may involve occasional walking or standing for brief periods. May involve occasional light lifting of items or objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Work involves physical ability necessary to visually inspect fine details in order to identify similarities and differences in colors, shapes, textures or physical appearance associated with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in a clinic setting or within medical or healthcare facilities. Work involves use of standard office equipment, such as computer, phone, etc. Work involves use of medical tools and equipment necessary for the care and/or diagnosis of healthcare patients.
